Martin Luther King Jr. Day 2015: Quote 50.

martin luther king jr, mlk day

Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’

Interesting thing, my dad happens to be a huge admirer of Reverend Martin Luther King Jr.–as most are–and in the spirit of the times, he asked that God would bring him a child with the same spirit to help and love others. Apparently, that child was me! Now, I don’t know about me inspiring national movements or anything, but I do love and appreciate what he did. My birthday also happens to be the day before his–January 14th–which was apparently confirmation enough for my father :). So, in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, here are a few inspirational quotes. And remember, always act kindly and love cheerfully.

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”

“We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive. He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love. There is some good in the worst of us and some evil in the best of us. When we discover this, we are less prone to hate our enemies.”

Thanks for the quote and believe it or not you exhibit the same qualities of helping others as Dr. king. It’s executed on a smaller level. Ex: while in New York you help change the lives of families, on your job you always aasist in making sure the customers have a great shopping experience and you are always giving your family members and the people you come in contact with your best. Anybody can always leave with the sound of your laughter in their ear and a memory of the beautiful smile that’s on your face. Now, I encourage you to keep writing because I know this is just another way you are being use to change/touch the lives of people on a larger scale. I believe your dad’s prayer was answered and there are so many other people waiting to be touch by your acts of kindness.
